It’s been ten years since the Cronulla riots, a national day of shame that lives on in infamy. The anniversary should have been a day of quiet reflection, but instead it was co-opted by racist idiots to attack this decade’s minority scapegoat.
After months of advertising, promotion and hyping the event up, the “memorial” that Australia’s racists organised was just a group of 30-40 idiots standing around a raw pig carcass, outnumbered by reporters.
The cowardly Shermon Burgess stayed home, Australian flags were confiscated, and Nick Folks wasn’t allowed to address the crowd.
One big change in the last ten years is that Australia’s antifascists have organised and mobilised in response to the increasing racial hatred. The Great Aussie Patriot might have cowered in a corner crying, but we were in Cronulla ensuring that Australia never sees a repeat of the events of ten years ago, alongside hundreds of other people from all over the country who are also fed up with Australia’s nascent neo-Nazi nuttery.
Compared to its predecessor ten years earlier, the day in Cronulla was a walk on the beach. Unfortunately it was still marred not just by the right-wing aggressors trying to start fights, but also by the juvenile lies and deceptive rhetoric that was used to justify that violence by Islamophobic faux-writers such as Tim Elliot.
In the week since the #WestpacRaceRiot, Squirmy Burgess has completely lost what little remnants of his shit remained, while his partner in cancer, Wiggum Cerminara, has been targeting people’s children and encouraging violence on his homepage of hostility, Left Wing Bigots and Extremists Exposed.
In the other faction of fascist failure, the UPF have become incensed that their views aren’t compatible with Australian law. In response to another appeal against Bendigo’s mosque being rejected, the extremists of the UPF intend to do the kinds of things extremists do to subvert democracy and the legal system, and they’ve promised to disrupt, disgrace and presumably vandalise the town again.
We’ve been creating a special Fascist Fuckhead Friday with its own unique format, but the clusterfuck that’s been happening over the last fortnight has led us down so many interesting new avenues that we’ve temporarily reduced the resources allocated to producing that particular post.
For this week, we have just a smattering of psycho simpletons that have caught our attention recently.
Violent, armed and ignorant.
According to Matt John Thomas, ranting about Muslims on Facebook is the only thing keeping him from murdering people.
Why won’t anyone date Hayden Moore? It can’t have anything to do with the way he talks about women as objects and shares rape jokes, can it? Read the profile to find out!
